Our Founder

I'm Shereth Nunes, a proud native of my island home, Jamaica. I can be called many things - event professional, entrepreneur, blogger, wife, sister, daughter and WOMAN - just to name a few.

Here's what you should know:

* I am a lover of music, theater, dance, and the visual arts.

* I appreciate new cultural experiences and the constant pursuit of knowledge and empowerment.

* I believe we should be ourselves without apology, even if it means going against the grain.

* I am not afraid to my voice to express myself  and give voice to the voiceless.

* I seek to celebrate the beauty, the talent, and the success of women of color and promote those who are paving their own paths in the world. Hear more of Our Story.

ROAR was created to change the conversation. We aim to change the idea that the term "women of color" only includes black women. The truth is, it goes beyond racial designations such as, African American, Asian, Native American, Hispanic and the like. This is a community made up of women from various cultures, backgrounds, races, and religions who are seeking a platform to discuss the issues we face within today's society.

ROAR is about the strength of a woman

Her perseverance

Her love for humanity

Her love for equality

ROAR is about uplifting and empowering women

ROAR is about you

ROAR is about her

Roar is about me

I am my own dictionary, no one defines me. Create my own boundaries, no one confines me. It's motivation that drives me, I cannot be tamed. I'm a strong kind of woman, I won't be contained.

~Shereth ~

Yours Authentically,

Shereth  "Chaebutta" Nunes

"Her roar is an exulting cry, for hers is a song of freedom, a lioness riding to the promised land, and she dares to realise all she was created to be"
